Still alive

I haven't blogged because I still haven't been able to work out. My back is still hurting pretty bad. If it isn't better Friday, I'm going back to the doctor.  I actually miss it now. Blah

Day 14 rest

Yesterday's workout was bad...really really bad..I ended up spending most of Saturday night in bed crying from back pain. I went to an urgent care clinic today and they said it was a lumbar sprain/strain.  Luckily today is a rest day so even though I have to skip at least one day of workouts it won't be too bad.  When I feel better I'm going to start with the fit test since that is shorter and not nearly as bad.  Hopefully I will be back at it soon

Day 13: Pure cardio and cardio abs

Got up this morning and did both workouts. Pure cardio wasn't as hard as it has been. Cardio abs was ridiculous. I'm worn out but we are 45 days away from the election so no rest

Day 12-Cardio Power and Resistance

Cardio Recovery didn't do too much damage yesterday.  My muscles are tight and I think there is a combination of me getting used to the soreness and me getting in shape because I don't notice much pain. I've also been getting a protein shake in as soon as i finish the workouts to help with muscle recovery.

Yikes is all I can say about the workout today.  I'm getting much better strength wise. As far as the cardio, today wasn't my day.  I think I saw the white light.  At one point I thought I was having an asthma attack, another time indigestion, and another time I thought I was going to vomit.  I've never been so happy to do a cool down hip flexor stretch.  I have to get up at the crack of dawn tomorrow because there are two workouts and I have a very very long day

Day 11-cardio recovery

This workout is so much different than the rest. It gives us a break from the hard core cardio but doubles up with strength training.  I did better than last week. The lower body work is getting easier day by day.  The upper body is getting easier too but not nearly at the same rate.  I may have to lay off of any upper body work for a few days.  My shoulder has been hurting so I want to see what's going on with it.  I learned a while ago to listen to my body when it tells me to slow down.  My lower body is really tight right now.  I definitely see some definition in my quads now.  Tomorrow is Friday which is my normal weigh in day. Let's see what happens.

Day 10- Plyometric Cardio Circuit

I woke up this morning sore. I felt yesterday's workout in my glutes quads, abs and obliques.  Basically the just about all the areas that need work so that's good.  I focused on getting enough calories in today to make sure i have the energy to complete the workout.

My workout was later than normal because of work. (Which I will get into later). I tried liquid energy by powerbar which is basically carbs. It actually worked. I had more strength during the workout and didn't have to stop as much. The workout still kicked my butt but I did better than the past few workouts.

I started insanity in the middle of campaign season. I have a pull time job but I also have a political consulting company. I figured that if I can do insanity through this I can figure out how to workout no matter how hectic my schedule may get.  So far it has been good. I haven't skipped a workout yet.

Day 9- Pure Cardio

I woke up this morning feeling pretty good.  I had a little pain in my shoulder from V Pushups.  I hit my knee on something saturday and it was sore and after the workout yesterday it hurt to move it last night but it's better.   I hate the pure cardio workout so I was dreading doing it all day.

Today was rough. I'm not sure what's going on but I wonder if nutrition is the issue. I'm going to start making a bigger effort to make sure I'm getting enough calories everyday. That's the only reason I can think of for this much trouble working out.

I'm getting a lot more sleep now which is great.  Time for bed. A lot to do tomorrow
